Editor's note - It has come to our knowledge that a number of media houses are taking news articles from this website and using them without acknowledging the source.

We do not stop anyone from using artsinitiates material but demand that they be credited. artsinitiates has always credited sources whenever we use an article we think is good for our readers.

The biggest culprit is the Herald that has from time to time taken articles verbatim and ‘forgot’ to credit artsinitiates.

The story in the Herald about La Brass Band was taken verbatim from this website. When the Herald entertainment editor met Novell Zvangendaba who writes for artsinitiates from Harare, she apologized but again that is not crediting the source.

There have been a lot in the past, though.

We wonder how an organisation that had 18 accredited reporters covering Hifa could stoop so low to take from artsinitiates and ‘forget’ to credit.

The Sunday Mail is second with the current issue’s story on Hifa clamping down on journalists as well as the Hifa opening ceremony.

Although the reporter quoted the bits and pieces of information taken from artsinitiates, he did not credit the source. Mere quoting does not amount to crediting.

The future is ours.
