artsinitiates writer - Newsnet entertainment editor Terence Mapurisana denies calling Hifa organisers shit but that he described their action as a stupid thing for restricting journalists access to some events.

Mapurisana was quoted in our story Hifa Clamps Down on Cheating Journos as having said:

"Hifa has made a mistake. Vazvitaura riinhi izvozvo? I wish I was present. Ivo ndivo vega vaingopa accreditation nema-reporters chero vanonyora zvebhora.

“Those guys (Hifa) are really shit. It is their fault. They are shit. They accredit anyone without properly checking  whether the reporters cover the arts.”

artsinitiates correspondent Novell Zvangendaba spoke to a number of journalists including Mapurisana who was quoted blaming Hifa organisers for having created the problem.

Although Mapurisana is not denying talking Zvangendaba, he, however is denying using the word shit.

"I never said its SHIT instead I said its STUPID for them to say that when they are the once who have been accrediting everyone without checking," Mapurisana wrote in an email to Wonder Guchu Thursday.

I wonder which one is stronger in terms of showing disgust - shit or stupid. ed.
