Prince Claus Fund

Prince Claus Fund logoRealising the need for media training in the arts and culture sector, Guchu sought funding from Prince Claus Fund. The training was initially meant to run alongside the Chibuku Road to Fame project but the Prince Claus Fund felt it would be of great interest and value if the event ran during the Harare International Festival of the Arts given its international appeal. It was also felt that Hifa had a multi-sectoral approach and would offer participants a wider selection of genres to discuss and review.

Arts Initiates is therefore on the ground not only to offer training programmes but to engage in various exchange programmes meant to promote arts and cultural development in Zimbabwe and Southern Africa.

Already, Arts Initiates has signed a contract with Lyrikline, a German poetry Internet site that has cultural exchange programmes with various organisations across the globe. Already, two Zimbabwean poets - Mbizo Chirasha and Ignatius Mabasa - will soon have their works featured on the site www.lyrikline.org.
