The Royal Netherlands Embassy in Harare will screen the famous children series Peter Bell at the Elite 100 next Saturday as part of the Zimbabwe International Film Festival which opens on September 5. Peter Bell created by Chris van Abkoude and set in early 30s' Rottendam is a classic tale for young audiences. The story is based on a 10-year old boy named Peter Bell whose father is a shoemaker while his elder sister Martha is a teacher at the school where he attends. Even at that tender age, Peter's life is so full of adventure that he makes headlines. Although his name appears in newspapers, Peter is not happy because most of the stories are based on lies. Bent on clearing his name, Peter vows to take revenge and to do so he decides to form his own little army - The Black Hand Club. The ceremony next Saturday will be attended by children who will entertained by by a clown before the screening. The deputy ambassador Marchel Gerrmann is expected to give a short speech. |
