The Zimbabwe Film and Television School for Southern Africa is calling for application from qualified persons wishing to undertake its maiden two-year diploma programme in film making set for the end of this year.

The new programme covers various aspects of film making and related subjects.

 

An advertisement carried in the Sunday Mail said the school is offering courses in animation, cinematography, directing, African Aesthetics, African History, African Texts and Symbols, film theories, post production, producing and production management, scriptwriting and film traditions.

 

A few lucky people from the region trained at the institution in the mid 1990's before it was revamped to offer higher level programmes.

The school is now headed by former Zimbabwe Broadcasting Holding (ZBH) boss Dr Rino Zhuwarara.

It is based at the former UNESCO complex along Mazowe Road near Parirenyatwa Hospital in the capital.

Potential candidates should have five ordinary level passes including one language, mathematics, an art as well as a science subject with grade C or better.

Alternatively, they should have advanced level passes in three subjects with a D or better.
